Nowadays the Media's role in the daily is very hard because of many reasons. The global main trouble is most of the information about relevance events that happen daily are incomplete. Why that? Because there is too much censorship to hide the real situation. All the news have to be transmitted from the point of view of the media. Some of them has more freedom to inform the information. But yes, censorship is very very important and cannot be omitted. Newspapers have to adapt to the new generation. Its common to read the news online than buy the newspaper. This provoked a decrease on the income. So, medias have to access to the proposals of the big companies to sell their products. The main source of income comes from there. Commercials than sell a perfect product, government or service. Returning to the issue of censorship, a recent clear example was the new law SOPA which it was supposed to protect copyright. Internet is the perfect site to piracy and there is a crisis in medias. But of course, in between there are other intentions on that: Internet was free, to express ideas without worrying of being persecuted by the government. This law, has also the permission to censorship many sites where there was freedom to ideas. 1884 George Orwell wrote a novel talking about it. The minestery of the truth was about to adjust the truth to the power, to the government without inconveniences. To survive there is not easy, to say the truth. It is common to see that kind of cases on third world countries. But the image they sells to the rest of the world is totally different. For example, on Mexico tourism and media show a image of a peaceful and rich in culture, when the truth is that the poverty on that country makes it so insecure because often and often people lose their jobs and join the corruption. Most of the foreign don’t see it because they ignore it. Nobody would say that on that country people are afraid to be kidnap, killed, or used for the traffic of persons. If someone do it, they are most than fired…murder. There are periodists that they are murder everyday for not shuting up. The drug’s trade is one of the most important source of income that they have. Unfortunatelly, we usually are use to listen to the half-truth. Medias transmit tv shows with lack of knownledge. “The people bread and circuses” Terrible, memorable or cultural things happen over the world, they don’t see it. Because they don’t want to.They don’t want to know there is people dying for hungry in Africa, that there is a civil war of narcotraffic in Latin America or people than work for less than a dolar per day in Asia. They don’t want to. They are ignorants because they unknown the truth, they are entertaining in a lie, in a “should be” life, a fictional tv show where life is perfect.
